Plants in BIODEGRADABLE containers = DON’T!
A lot of the home centers that sell plants, mostly vegetables and non-potted plants, in biodegradable containers. I found that it is best to NOT use biodegradable pots that come on some plants!
I love the idea of using recycled products instead of the plastic pots. However, these cardboard, recycled product planters actually do more harm than good for most plants. In my research, I have found the plants fail to thrive if they’re left in these containers. Faster/stronger growth occurs when plants are removed from these types of containers.
One of the reasons for plant death is mold growth.
